He attended Baylor College of Dentistry (Now Texas A&M University College of Dentistry), where he further developed his passion for research, winning multiple research awards and earning his dental degree in 1989. Subsequently, he was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Baylor University Medical Center. He earned his Specialty Certification in 1993 while continuing his research and teaching pursuits. Dr. Bolding also earned a Postdoctoral Master in Craniofacial Biology at Baylor University in Waco, TX, in 1992.
Dr. Bolding is a former board examiner and current Diplomate of the Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an internationally recognized leader and renowned educator in orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular surgery, and dental implants. He has dedicated his career to advancing the art and science of dentistry through exceptional patient care, teaching innovative techniques to his peers, and publishing numerous articles.
In 2016, Dr. Bolding’s father began to develop Alzheimer’s disease and suffered a debilitating stroke the following year. His medical team believed the stroke was likely related to obstructive sleep apnea. As a result, Dr. Bolding has devoted his time and talents as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to assisting in efforts to find treatment solutions for sleep-disordered breathing and Alzheimer’s.
Full-mouth dental implants in St. Petersburg, FL, and Rogers, AR, are a life-changing option if you’re missing an upper or lower arch. With streamlined full-mouth dental implants like all on four to six, our implant surgeons maximize the use of available bone, often bypassing the need for bone grafting. We use digital technology and robotics to ensure the entire process is precise and seamless, from planning to postsurgical care.
The strength and stability of your natural teeth are replicated by surgically implanting a minimum of four dental implants per arch into your jawbone, which integrate over a period of three to six months.
Your temporomandibular joints (TMJs) are like other joints in your body, with ligaments and tendons, so they can become inflamed for various reasons. TMJ dysfunction or disorder is often misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all despite causing mild to debilitating pain and other symptoms that affect daily life.
At PRECiDENT, our team of TMJ experts will accurately diagnose the underlying cause(s) and then determine the most effective non-surgical and surgical treatment to alleviate your pain and help you rediscover the joys of living life fully again!
If you’re one of the millions of Americans with sleep apnea, your airway repeatedly becomes blocked during sleep, limiting the amount of air that reaches your lungs. The resulting lack of oxygen activates a survival reflex that wakes you up just long enough to resume breathing. In obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the temporary pause in breathing is caused by the tissue in the back of your throat collapsing.
When left untreated, OSA can increase the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. Dr. Bolding has done extensive research on sleep apnea and collaborates closely with other specialists to diagnose and treat the underlying cause. With both nonsurgical and surgical options, PRECiDENT is the right practice to restore restful nights and prevent the serious health consequences of OSA!
Dr. Bolding combines cutting-edge robotic technology with an orthopedic approach to the bones in the face and jaw to alleviate pain and other symptoms that aren’t responsive to nonsurgical methods. When you choose PRECiDENT to treat TMJ dysfunction, sleep apnea, or upper airway issues, you’ll benefit from a collaborative approach that combines multidisciplinary experts with the latest technology.
Maxillomandibular advancement surgery aims to enlarge the airway by moving the upper and lower jaws forward. This highly effective jaw surgery for resolving OSA is ideal when CPAP isn’t tolerated or an underdeveloped jaw or TMJ dysfunction causes OSA.
Our collaborative team of experts strives to provide clinically excellent care, whether you need corrective jaw surgery, dental implants, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ surgery, or any other procedure.
When you entrust your oral health to PRECiDENT, we respect your unique clinical needs and financial situation. To ensure cost-effective treatment reflects your best interests, you’ll always receive truthful, honest, and transparent care.
